Welcome to the neighborhood

Here we are at the house on Friday letting Kula check the place out. Dig the curved wall. I'm standing in what was the dining room looking into the living room.
Example

So far we have only made 2 trips to Home Depot, 2 trips to the grocery store, 1 trip to the veterinarian's office and one trip to Sherwin Williams. (After a bad day on Saturday, Kula finally appears to be feeling better.)
Example

I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen while Andrew cleaned the living room and dining room. Andrew also used his mad skills to install a kitty door for Della leading to the basement (a.k.a. home of the litter box).
Example

Today I pruned the Redbud tree out front, swept the basement and the backyard and trimmed the plants creeping into our parking area.... I'm not sure what Andrew did...

We also emptied my storage space, hung a flag on the front porch for Memorial Day and met many, many friendly neighbors.

So far the only down points for me have been the overly shady backyard and the overly active kids playing kickball in the alley. Oh wait..and the super disgusting bathtub I had to scrub for about an hour.

Tomorrow we are off to the Gypsy Caravan to look for treasure!

Whoa! Let’s see. Today I finished prepping the walls in the living room…washed, spackled, sanded and loved just right for a sweet coat or two of paint when we finally pick out a color. It is not easy cleaning another family’s humanity off the walls!

I masterminded the movement of a massive piece of furniture up our stairs and down into the future art room. (a.k.a .– the room of to much plaster)

I ripped out about 200 feet of poorly spliced and cheap speaker cord, tracing its path down thru the hardwood floors, around the basement ductwork, and out a creepy pipe above the basement door.

I carried 10 gallons of paint, put batteries in my 4 D Cell Mag-Lite – and I walked around all day with my sweet new Leather-Man attached to my belt. It came in handy at least 15 times today – and it looks super cool.

You masterminded!? I beg to differ! I am the one who masterminded the removal of the armoire doors while it was sitting stuck on the landing of the staircase. However your muscles did come in handy. =)

You just think you are awesome because you can both say and spell “armoire”.

As I just said “furniture”, I believe that you have more credibility in the matter, for using the proper terminology and/or house vernacular.

Can't you two just fight in person instead of online? If I wanted to brag about all the work I have done around my house this weekend all of us would never get any work done. Now get back to work!

P.S. The house looks nice.

Congrats on being in the house! I remember that cleaning phase well. The best are when you find kid ketchup fingerprints that you know were the not the previous owners, but the ones before that! Happy settling. Lots of beautiful things grow in shade - think trillium, mayapples, dutchman's britches, bluebells, and the list goes on! And heck Missouri is hot, all you'll want is shade from April through October!
